This is the Life

I'm sitting out on my back porch. It's 9:30 pm and I'm reflecting back on my day a bit, enjoying the coolness of the evening, while I listen to my family through the open dining room window. They are now watching Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade. They've had a marathon day of Indiana Jones movies. This is the first time my girls have watched them and I'm sure it's going to come back to bite us on the rump tonight. I've already informed my husband that I am not getting up with any crying kids tonight because they are scared of the movies Daddy let them watch. But they sure are having lots of fun. The shrieks and screams keep bringing a smile to my lips.
Our day started out not as I expected. WARM!!!! I mean I expected it to get warm today but after having left windows open all night and fans going I didn't expect it to be warm still in our house. I was wrong! I had been planning on helping my Dad with our back porch today but found out yesterday that he wouldn't be able to make it until afternoon. So this morning found me cleaning house a bit and playing around on the computer. Hence all the posts for today - I'm sure it's a record.
Dad didn't end up getting here until later but we were able to get all the fascia up. This required me going up on the roof. I'm not exactly fond of heights but I try not to let that fear get the best of me. Of course, we live in a mobile home - how high up are we really? We also got a couple sheets of our roof "sheeting" up. Doesn't really sound like that much got done but my body sure does feel as though it was worked well.
Well, back to my quiet time on my porch with a final post for the day. It is an amazing feeling as I sit here. To quote Hannah Montana - THIS IS THE LIFE, SO HOLD ON TIGHT. THIS IS THE DREAM. IT'S ALL I NEED . . . . . I'M STILL GETTING IT RIGHT - YEAH THIS IS THE LIFE!

they need to be pushed past the norm from time to time.

yeah, Keith really likes to push them too!
our oldest does NOT like whip cream - this kills Keith. so he is constantly pushing her to try it, try some more. poor girl, sometimes she is to the point of crying before he'll let up! all over whip cream!!! ;}

My son is going to be absolutley DEVASTATED when he finds out he was not invited to the Indie trilogy weekend.

as it turns out right after I posted the shrieks and screams turned into tears and whining. they had hit their limit (of course it was 10:00pm) and everything was scaring them. keith had apparently hit his limit as well as was not being a very compassionate Daddy at the moment. so they went to bed w/o seeing much of the 3rd movie. it was a very impromptu movie marathon. as in keith is flipping through channels, sees indiana jones and the raiders of the lost ark has just started, asks me if the girls can watch it, checks to see if its rated appropriately, mom gives the okay and it's started. at the time we didn't realize all of them would be on.
