I can bring home the bacon, fry it up in a pan . . .

So we Tanner girls made a startling discovery last night. One that I'm sure will completely appall both Jack and Seth. Since yesterday was Samantha's birthday and Keith was very busy at the Mobile Mansion, we decided to have a slumber party at Auntie Janeen's house. Auntie Janeen in turn came up with a great idea about going to the thrift store and buying some old clothes and then going to the fabric store and getting some patches and beads and "stuff" to "dress-up" the clothes. After getting home with all of our goodies though we realized we would need an iron to adhere our patches and our iron-on transfers. Janeen, who is 29 and owns her own home, does not own an iron. My iron of course is packed up but if I was being completely honest I would have to say that after 11 1/2 years of marriage it has only been used once! So we called our little sister Rene' (whose been married 5 1/2 yrs) and had her bring her iron when she came. As she sets it on the counter, she says I hope you guys know how to use it because its never been used!
Sisters = 3
Irons = 2
Accumulative years since we've all moved out of our parents home = 19 yrs
Not ever having to use those irons = PRICELESS!

That must mean you are really good at laundry... you have never left a load of clothes in the dryer and pulled out fresh clean wrinkled clothes.

Either that or wrinkled clothes don't bother her. :) I detest ironing and will occasionally straighten a hem or collar with my flatiron. :)))

I just turn the dryer back on and "fluff" them! And if they've been there too long and are absolutely not wearable the way they are, I just wash them over again!!!
But I have gotten a lot better about getting my clothes out of the dryer as soon as it goes off. I guess it's a little easier to hear the buzzer when the dryer isn't downstairs in the basement with a door blocking all sound. And I've found a great product that reduces my chances of having to iron - DOWNY WRINKLE RELEASER!

BTW-Melissa that is hilarious. I'll have to remember that trick!!!

I thought the story was going to be about applying those patches in a skillet and they ended up smelling like bacon.
ummm bacon, great now I'm hungry! What did I say about food blogging and work? This is why I can't go on Mrs. Guay's cooking blog.)

So what did the fam think of the clothes? Are the girls wearing any of there new old spruced up clothes to school today?

I am just trying to bring the wrinkled look back in. Hmmm. Was it ever really "in"???

When the girls come to show you something and they are as excited as a hog on feed day, you had better be as excited as they are or you will break their hearts.
